Longing for Good Times

One day we will talk
in clearer tongues
with nicer words.
The sounds won't pierce the heart.
The mind won't numb.
We will built our own lingo.
Free of the curses.
The symmetry would be charming.
The syllables would be lyrical.
Tender and terse,
like the wind that blows through spring gardens;
like the snow that has just leapt from the sky.
The lyceum is blooming,
zinnias are in tow,
somehow cactus has a red — blood red flower too.
Chirpy and cheerful just the way it should be.

But,
in other words
all that matters
is a spring close to heart.
